That’s not bad. Not bad at all.

one question. Independent rear suspension?

Multi-link rear.

mmmmm.. That really is a good package for that price point then.

Hasn’t the Civic had some form of IRS since the 80s? I remember that being a big selling point for them as most competitors kept torsion beams or trailing arms(?) for a long time.

well they offered multi link then went to MacPherson(ugh) for a while and every one was mad..

The FN2 and FK2 Civic Type-Rs (the last 2) used a torsion beam (apparently, according to my brief internet research).

Wow, interesting...among all my friends in the 90s, the Civics were the only ones with IRS. I never thought they would go “backwards” in a sense.

yup and every one was sad..

I thought that was front suspension. Civics were some of the only compacts on the market with A-Arm fronts until the 7th gen when they went to MacPherson struts.

If it ain’t a Type R, it ain’t a tyte car.

Clarkson wasn’t that happy with the change either:

and they went torsion in the rears.. yeah I wasn’t complete on that response. I’m only half sure of what I’m talking about with Honda, but sure enough to know them going back to a multi link rear is a good thing. and in the price point it really made it all that more attractive of a deal.

Yep - what you just said.

Decent price but still ugly

From what I’ve read there hasn’t been a Honda Civic with a rear torsion bar (at least in the US) since 1987.

Not out the door. I bought a 2010 new and it was a few thousand more by the time you can drive it away!

$24,775 includes destination, the actual MSRP is $23,900. As for what the dealer gets away with, that’s not the car’s fault.

Could be worse...the hatchback is made in England.
